The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and the 2024 RAM 1500 are available with several two- and four-door cabs. However, most buyers will opt for the largest four-door cab. These are most suited to diverse usage case scenarios. Here, the 2024 Silverado 1500 and the 2024 RAM 1500 have a similarly sized interior.
These two full-size pickup trucks can be equipped to be tough and hard-wearing or luxurious. Buyers can opt for leather upholstery and wood interior accents. For something more practical, you can choose vinyl seats and tough plastic surfaces. Buyers can also specify features such as digital gauge clusters and heated front seats. The 2024 Silverado 1500 also offers several in-cabin storage spaces.
The 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 and the 2024 RAM 1500 come with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ for all trims. Higher trims of the 2024 Silverado 1500 get a Google-powered voice assistant. Amazon Alexa compatibility is also available. Buyers can also choose sound system upgrades for these trucks.
Both trucks have several cargo bed lengths to offer, depending on the chosen cab style. For 2024, Chevy equips the Silverado 1500 with an optional Multi-Flex tailgate. Some of these features can be accessed via the vehicle’s key fob itself. Meanwhile, the 2024 RAM 1500 only provides a regular, downward-folding tailgate.
The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado offers four engine options to buyers. The base engine is a 2.7-liter, 310-hp turbocharged unit with 430 lb-ft of torque. This engine is connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Then, there’s a 5.3-liter naturally aspirated 355-hp V8 with 383 lb-ft of torque.
Buyers who want more power can select a 6.2-liter 420-hp V8 with 460 lb-ft of torque. Alternatively, there’s a 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbodiesel engine. This engine produces 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. The V8s and the turbodiesel come with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can also get steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters in some trims.
The 2024 Silverado 1500 comes in rear-wheel or four-wheel drive forms. There’s also a ZR2 trim for off-road enthusiasts. This trim includes Chevy’s Multimatic DSSV dampers. These are optional for some other trims. Moreover, the ZR2 trim has standard 33-inch mud-terrain tires and skid plates. This trim also comes with a two-speed transfer case and electronically locking differentials.
The 2024 RAM 1500 only has two engines available. Lower trims get a 3.6-liter, 305-hp V6 with a torque output of 269 lb-ft. Higher trims have a 5.7-liter, 395-hp V8 with a torque output of 410 lb-ft. An 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive are standard. Four-wheel drive is optional.
The 2024 Silverado 1500 can tow up to 13,300 pounds. It offers a maximum payload capacity of 2,280 pounds. Meanwhile, the 2024 RAM 1500 has a payload capacity of up to 2,320 pounds. However, its maximum towing capacity is just 12,750 pounds. All figures are powertrain and trim-dependent.
The 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 comes with blind spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision warning. Lane departure warning and lane-keeping assistance are also standard. Buyers can also specify GM SuperCruise. This feature provides adaptive cruise control plus semi-autonomous driving capabilities. The 2024 RAM 1500 has some of these features.
